Atlanta Program
CMC-Atlanta is a division of The Chamber Music Connection, Inc. based in Worthington, Ohio. Founded by Deborah Barrett Price, CMC was born in 1992 as the Delaware Chamber Music Festival. The past 16 years have brought enormous growth and success, turning CMC into a nationally recognized chamber music program! Sponsoring over 10 programs and boasting an enrollment of nearly 500 students each year, CMC continues to attract the highest caliber of professional musicians, symphony members, renowned composers, conductors, educators, and guest chamber music ensembles to work with their student ensembles. Past and present CMC students have appeared on national and local television and radio broadcasts. Students also continue the tradition of placing in national and local chamber music competitions. CMC alumni have attended or presently attend many of our nation's best music universities, colleges and conservatories. Many CMC-formed friendships and musical collaborations have lasted into adulthood! The CMC-Atlanta pilot program was founded by CMC alumnus Nathan Kufchak with CMC Artistic Director Deborah Price. Nathan and Debbie, along with Heidimarie Traylor and support from the CMC board and Atlanta community, put forth plans for a pilot program held in winter 2008. Due to the successful first run, we are delighted to present two programs (Fall 2008 and Winter 2009) for Atlanta metro area students to participate in studying and playing chamber music with guidance from excellent faculty and artists.
